My skills were refined at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, but the real turning point was under the guidance of two esteemed Master Photographers associated with the Professional Photographers of America. It was during this time that I became enamored with portrait photography – the art of storytelling through images, without words.
Reflecting on my inaugural wedding shoot in 2010 still fills me with pride. Since then, I've had the privilege of contributing to numerous weddings – those unforgettable events that mark the beginning of lifelong journeys. Miss Harris went above and beyond for my special day. She was super punctual, professional and made me feel very comfortable. Just 2 days after she sent me a sneak peek at some pictures taken and they are so beautiful.
Did I mention how quickly she responded to my request on this app and I am so glad she was the first to respond as, I would not want to use anybody else..
I appreciate that she respected my small wedding by even dressing nicely for the occasion. She took the initiative to even seek out nice scenic areas where we could also take pictures and I appreciate that very much.
I will be booking again very soon for some graduation pictures.

We had the best experience having out newborn photos done with Alex. She was responsive, professional, and punctual. She worked wonderfully with our newborn twins and was so patient when they were fussy. Our pictures turned out beautiful. I would reccomend Alex to anyone!

UPDATE: The lack of communication turned out to be because Alex had been in a car accident and was unable to contact me because she was in the hospital. She messaged me privately to let me know this recently, and so I am changing my review. She is very friendly and does get back to you quickly when she is able to! Unfortunately Thumbtack doesn’t let you delete reviews, so I just had to update this one with the new information. Apologies to Alex.
I contacted AlexHarris to ask if she would be available on short notice to photograph my wedding (my partner’s mom got ill and so we moved up our date). I specifically mentioned that it would be short notice, but a small wedding. She messaged me that she was available, and asked if there was a time we could talk on the phone. We agreed on a time, but when I called I got a voicemail. I kept trying all night, left a voicemail with my info for her to call me back. I tried texting her and messaged her again on Thumtack but got no response. I ended up hiring a different photographer for the job.
She seems very friendly, and I was sad I felt I got ghosted about the job instead of her letting me know she couldn’t do it on the timeline I was looking for. The few communications I had with her she was very friendly, though.

Pricing is standard, if long distance travel is needed, additional fees may be added.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to get to know my new customers so I can work with them to really find what they are looking for with our photo session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to study Photography as a whole with a major in film photography. After art school, I then studied under Master Photographers of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Judy Roberts and Janet Schneider.
