    Roof Installation or Replacement

I had a small area of roof blow off in wind storm. The insurance company agreed to replace the entire front slope of my home. The search for a contractor was on. After checking posted reviews, and the BBB, I choose this company. All In. A veteran owned company. Based on their website and salesman, Kyle, they stated they did not use subs and would protect my home from damage during removal, and clean up after themselves. Their crew began work on a friday morning while I was gone. When I came home from work, I saw piles of debris along the front of my home and a trail of it to the dumpster. That evening, they left and asked if it would be ok to finish on Saturday. Of course, I agreed. I left for the day and upon return, they had left a tremendous amount of the plastic bags, the backing for the ice shield, and the plastic backing on the shingles, to blow around in the wind. As I walked around picking up the cigarette butts, soda cans and other trash left in my yard from their crew, I noticed that the crew had used the back of may garage and the snow there as a bathroom. I continued cleaning. Getting to the front of the home, I looked up and noticed that they had left a roof jack on one of my dormers. After heading up there to get it down, that's when I noticed the roof. It apparent that the crew took little care in removing the shingles as some of the cedar siding was missing and other places it was cracked. When I addressed this with the crew that came back after I called to complain about the garbage, I was told "It was like that before". The siding on my dormers that was not cracked was marred by shingles hitting them. They nailed through the flashing, not sealing it afterwards. They left a crooked drip edge, damaged wood on my chimney chase, and a quarter of the wrap around porch, unfinished. My first phone call was to the insurance company. I was assured they authorized the full front to be finished as to avoid a roof mullet. The contractor denied they were given the materials to complete the whole roof. They go back and forth and more is authorized. They complete the job. Sort of, the step flashing is exposed. I have them come out and they clip it off so its not visible. Then it rains and leaks near the chimney. They re-flash some of it and caulk around it. Leak is still not fixed. I also address the nails that were too long and blew through the ceiling of my porch. Its a post and beam house/porch. Wonderful porch. One inch rough sawn lumber. Now, it has about a hundred or so nails sticking through the wood. There are nails hanging down through the cracks in the porch roof. Staying with the porch I notice on the rails that there are many many places that shingles have struck the off white, freshly painted wood and left gouges, streaks and marring similar to the freshly painted cedar siding on the roof/chimney area. These are things brought up to Jeff Rettig and I was assured they'd be made right. I was told by the salesman that it would be perfect. The tipping point for me was when I was told that the siding damage was to be added to my claim, and not due to their carelessness during tear off. I was quoted just over 5K to fix approx 70 sq. Ft of cedar siding. This is after I was asked if I wanted "other options" to fix the siding since he claimed that they didn't make that type of siding anymore. Must have run out of cedar trees. So now i sit, with crookedly cut shingles on the edge of my home, damaged shingles on the saddle by my chimney, damaged siding and paint. I am so sick of the BS that I am fixing most of it myself and hiring another company to fix, in my opinion, the disaster of a roof that was put on my house. Could this be a fluke job as the owner states? Sure. Could it be the way they do business all the time? Possibly. I'll never be allowed to be used as a reference, and I am pretty sure they wont use my roof on their website. I have pictures and several great email chains backing all of this up. Feel free to ask me for them. dibs3694@sbcglobal.net Now, to their credit, they did make attempts at fixing this. They used a bright, non-matching caulk to seal the spots that I brought to their attention. They replaced a few shingles that were damaged. They attempted to straighten the drip edge. I was told that they would come back when it's warmer to cut the shingles straight. I cant edit this after posting it so I guess you'll never know unless you hit me at the above email address. As I said before, there isn't anything in this post I can't verify with a picture or an email. Do your homework...

An Employee came in to look at our roof to offer a quote. In general this employee was disrespectful and left a "quote" by writing a number on his business card. Also after working with several other companies, the rep we spoke with seemed to be by far the least knowledgeable.

All In One Builders put a new roof, siding and windows on my home and garage. My roof on my garage had been leaking and my gas bill was high in my home. The crew was professional and fast. The old roof was removed by noon and the new roof completed on day one. In one week the old siding and windows gone and the new ones installed. The whole house and garage were wrapped and foam under the siding. The cold drafts and noise from the road were gone. My heating bill is down and no more water in the garage. I've had All In One Builders return to do electrical upgrades and plumbing repairs. Highly recommend All In One Builders for any home repairs or upgrades. A++++
