FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I find it easiest to charge a flat rate of $40/hr for labor. I will do my best to give you an estimate of time and materials so you have an idea of total project cost. I am willing to quote certain jobs if that's preferred.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically like to meet the customer and put eyes on the project to see if it's a good fit and within my skill set or availability. I like to talk through multiple options so the customer feels good about the direction taken. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have to help you feel comfortable hiring me or looking for another option.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two Master's degrees in the social sciences, but have mostly on the ground experience for handyman work and construction. I took building trades in high school and have labored for numerous contractors since my late teens. My dad had a light construction business and was always very handy. I'm not afraid to read up on on new projects or skills (or YouTube).
