Kurt was definately a professional. He told us what he would do to solve the problem of our unlevel bathroom floor and gave us suggestions. We went with it and it turned out beautiful. We will be having him do our kitchen floor in the future. His tile work is beyond fantastic. Would recommend him in a minute. Thank you Kurt.

Kurt was very knowledgeable. The bathroom floor needed replacement after plumbing leaks destroyed existing floor/subfloor. I did not want to replace the existing tile and trim.Some bullnose tile needed to be removed for plumbing repair. He was the only company that was willing to restore the irreplaceable tile and reuse. He and his crew did an excellent job. The job was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Mortar City if you want quality work by someone who’s passion and experience reflects in the work he does.

I am very pleased with Mortar City Tile. I needed backsplash in my kitchen & butler pantry area, Kurt responded right away. I sent pictures and measurements, he said he would meet me at the store etc. when he came to do the job he was on time and did not play around with getting the job done. You can tell he loves what he does, the way his eyes light up when talking about how the tiles look depending on the way the light hit them etc. I could only choose 3 answers about what I liked about working with Mortar City Tile, I honestly would have chose all 3 if I could.
I would gladly recommend Mortar City Tile to anyone.

Fantastic job! Kurt did all of the flooring in our entire house. He installed ceramic tile in kitchen and bathroom. He installed bamboo flooring and crown molding throughout; he also tiled our fireplace. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was friendly and professional and made sure we were completely satisfied. His workmanship is impeccable and our floors look amazing!! Kurt patiently worked around other contractors, our crazy schedule, pets and kids. Can't wait to have him remodel my master bathroom!

Kurt was professional and prompt. He came over twice to offer suggestions and take accurate measurements before presenting a detailed quote. He showed up every day, on time. He even came on his days off to finish things. He completed our project ahead of schedule and even came back when it was done to install items that I later changed my mind about. He backs his work 100%. I would highly recommend him, you won’t be disappointed.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I provide fair estimates that reflect the quality and craftsmanship of my work. I give an estimate and stick to that estimate unless the customer adds to the project or other unforeseen issues arise.
I typically ask for a 40% deposit and the remained after the completion of the project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin with a discussion about what the customer’s vision is. I then do an in-home inspection and provide the customer with an estimate. If the customer approves the estimate, I then give them a time frame of when construction will begin and collect a deposit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained on the job and continue to learn. I was recently trained in Schluter Shower Systems which provide products that together form a fully bonded, watertight assembly for tiled showers and eliminates the risk of failures due to water and vapor penetration and dramatically reduces total installation time.
