FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first sessions serve to get to know my students better, so I can adapt the structure of the classes to the learning style of each of my students and focus on the points that are most important to them. My lessons are taylor-made according to the needs of each student. I like to start with a short interview to get to know my students better, understand their needs and objectives, as well to allow them to get to know us a little more because I want to ensure my services fit 100% your needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master's degree in "Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language."I'm a certified teacher by Instituto Cervantes with ten years of experience. I was born and raised in Spain and also lived in Mexico City for eight years which allowed me to master the foundation and varieties of the Spanish Language & Culture, and for the last five years, I have been teaching Spanish in the US (Nashville, TN) through my own company S&D Spanish. I utilize digitized solutions, and social media to assist students from across the country throughout their Spanish studies via virtual sessions and 1:1 sessions while using my own teaching resources. I design instructional materials and create lesson plans aimed to teach Spanish grammar, conversation, and vocabulary as well as geography and cultural traditions. ASSOCIATIONS Member of ACTFL, American Council on The Teaching of Foreign Languages. Member of AATSP, The American Association of Teachers of Spanish And Portuguese.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Experiencing the expat life in first-hand multiple times lighted up my passion about helping others that are going through the same adventure to make it in the most efficient, exciting and enjoyable way possible. This is the reason why I decided to become a Language & Cross- Cultural Coach. Being able to help others learn and appreciate my mother tongue brings me a tremendous amount of joy, as I see how a second language can open so many doors. I also love the idea of being able to create materials that make learning easier and more fun for my students.
