As a documentary filmmaker, I approach filming weddings, events, and promotional videos by observing and capturing authentic moments. When watching video, people can feel what's genuine and truthful, and what's forced and fake. My goal is to be discrete yet intimate in my filming and then precise in my editing and use of music. My style allows me to provide couples with an accurate and engaging story of the day through high quality video and sound.
I love documenting wedding days. Photos inspire couples to have memories sparked, but videos allow couples to re-live their wedding day, which flies by in an emotional and exciting blur. It's amazing to be a part of preserving something so personal and special.

Dan was great to work with! He was responsive, flexible, and easy going. We hired Dan for our daughter’s first birthday party and absolutely loved the final product. We liked that Dan was very personable while working with us before, during, and after our wedding. We didn't feel that it was just a job assignment for him. He worked well alongside the photographer, as well as the DJ. After showing us his initial edits with the video, he accommodated the changes we requested. The quality of his finished product was very good. We would definitely recommend him to others as a wedding videographer.

Within 5 minutes of downloading this app I searched for a videographer for our wedding. Dan responded immediately. I read his reviews, looked at his work and the rest is history! I could not have found a better videographer if I had compared 10 people (which I did not!) Everything from start to finish was seamless. He was extremely prompt and professional in every facet. He made this a very simple, easy process from set up to payment. I give him 5 stars because I would choose him again in a minute and I will tell anyone who is planning a wedding or event the same thing. Oh,..... and the finished product, our wedding video........AMAZING!!!!!

BEST MONEY SPENT on wedding! When you’re building the wedding budget: keep the line item for wedding videographer and put Dan Ketchum’s name as vendor. My groom was initially hesitant on the whole idea of a wedding video with fears of weird videographer with a giant, tacky camcorder, but Dan squashes all those fears & hesitations. We appreciated how Dan flawlessly captured all those moments of our day without “being in the way.” Nothing was forced; nothing to “pose-y” looking either. The finished product greatly exceeded our expectations. The way he edits and transitions clips and music in our wedding video was perfect. He has this way of capturing all the emotions of your wedding that you’re smiling through your eyes, holding back happy tears, laughing with your whole body, yet sitting in silence as your video plays on. He listened to all our concerns and is so responsive leading up to the wedding and especially during the editing process. We had an awesome day and we now have an awesome wedding video depicting just that. Wedding pictures are great, but pictures can only take you so far to remembering your wedding day. Our video really puts to us back in the moments of our special day, on a whole other level that pictures just can’t quite capture. Best thing during this whole process was my now husband, a man of very few words, even agreed on how impressed he was with Dan’s video. He now exclaims that this was best money we spent on our wedding. Don’t make the mistake and not get your day videotaped. Make sure it’s with Dan. You won’t regret it. He’s a great person and he’s the one you will want to capture your day. Trust me!

So my husband and I’s wedding was in Oct 2016, so I’m a little late in reviewing this wonderful young man. But last night I rewatched our video and it reminded me that we hadn’t reviewed him yet!! So here goes...
Dan was SO a extremely professional throughout the whole process. I found him through Thumbtack.com and took a chance and it paid off!!
From the beginning he was kind and courteous and very professional. He listened to our wants and obliged them all...even the tedious ones! He even had patience with me through my “bridezilla” moments!!
Then on the wedding day, he went above and beyond! He worked extremely well with our photographer and shot some absolutely beautiful video. He was so quiet there were times I forgot he was there. But he kept coming to us and asking if we needed anything or if we had any special requests.
Lastly...the finished product. I still cry every time I see it. I didn’t really want to spend the money beforehand but when I saw these videos, I am glad we did. He sent us a draft video of the long version so we could make sure it’s what we wanted. He delivered superbly on our requests for some minor changes. And then not only delivered a beautiful long version but also a great short version.
He told me once that he was, at the time, still new and learning lots of new things. If he hadn’t said that, I would have thought he had been doing it for a long time.
I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Dan Ketchum and know that you won’t be disappointed in choosing him!!
