Introduction: The experience of counseling is a very personal and shared interaction. Counseling provides one with the opportunity for growth and self-discovery in the context of a safe and supportive environment. It is my goal to establish a professional and trusting relationship with my clients. In order to establish this trust, I would like to begin by sharing my background, professional beliefs and techniques and more importantly, your rights as a client. My areas of special interests are working with, trauma, chemical addictions, behavioral addictions, child, teen and family issues and post-traumatic stress disorder. As well as, physical/sexual abuse, anxiety and grief and loss. I provide court ordered therapy, individual, group and family therapy. I have extensive experience in working with a variety of issues and problems regarding children, adolescents and adults and families. My professional approach to counseling is a variety of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, strength based and person-centered approach to counseling. This type of counseling focuses on teaching the client how to experience a more satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle by modifying certain thought and behavior patterns. Each individual is unique and I will make every effort to understand you as an individual by respecting your beliefs, values and worldview. Self awareness and understanding the way one responds to their experiences and life situations is essential to creating a successful therapeutic experience.
