- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Refinishing can run you roughly $2 per sq feet, the more the footage, we discount to a lesser price. Installation of the typical yet most popular red oak will cost you $8 per square which includes materials, sanding, and two coats of polyurethane (or three water base). If quarter rounds, demolition, or other things you may need and desire are added later, then there's a possible extra fee. Normally there is no extra cost unless you add more to the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At Kscc we're serious about the wood life. At the bare minimum, our employees must be trained in installation and refinishing. I'm 42 currently, I started training in wood since middle school, and I've been a refinisher almost half of my life.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was blessed to start Kscc Hardwood in 1992 1994. I learned in middle school and carried the wood passion. When we started my son wasn't born, now he's one of our greatest employees.
