First and foremost make sure that your prospective contractor is state licenced . This will not nessasarily ensure that he/she is a good craftsman , but it will certainly mean that they have taken the time and effort to go and obtain they're licence . The state of Michigan requires that all applicants are in good standing financially and that they have no outstanding complaints and claims against them . Secondly ' A list of references should be provided upon request . Any Builder that is in it for the long haul will be more than eager to show you a list of satisfied customers .
