    I contacted Aspect as I needed a real estate agent and management company to purchase and manage investment properties in Detroit. I was initially contacted and explained what I needed and that I wished to purchase 2 or 3 properties. I do not know whether I was not a big enough fish, but I did not have any further contact from them. Not even to say, no, they were not interested. A response of any sort would have been appreciated as I had turned down several other companies who responded to my request. Poor show!

Property management pricing is usually determined on many factors. Rents, area are important for single family homes. Size of the building, number of units, etc, are items we need to know to give a proper quote to you. Companies that offer set rates tend not to do their homework, which hurts you in the long run.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been working in property management since I was 19 years old. It is a business that offers an ever changing daily routine. The stories can be amazing and tenants can make you laugh or cry, but they are always interesting.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Market Analysis, Advertising, Tenant Screening, Leasing, Rent Collections, Accounting, Legal Services, Maintenance and Rehabs, Buying, Selling, Leasing and more.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure your property management company is responsive and treats you fairly. Keep in mind that they walk a tight rope between the tenant and homeowner, and sometimes are the bearer of bad news. The company should also have online access for both you and the tenants, so that they can make payments, check work order status, check reports in regards to investments and more. Make sure you see a sample of their reporting. You don't want a company that only has Excel reports that are not generated daily, or can't tell you about contact with your tenants quickly.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Property management is not just a cost to an investor. Our job is to make sure that you are protected by finding the best tenant available and our knowledge of the market usually helps us set the rents at a higher rate. Property management can be a great way to make better profits.
