Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Every dance instructor stands out from another with everything they do. I am not one to look at others and put others down to make myself seem better. I believe there are those out there who might be able to do things I can't, and that is life. All I know is what I do. I have the talent to invoke emotion through movement. I have the gift of matching choreography that flows and changes with each change and flow of the music. The only way I can say I stand out from others is how I believe in competition; I believe in supporting one another by any means. I do NOT believe in showing disrespect in any way shape and form. "Dance Mom's" mentality is NOT what this art is about, and with me will not be tolerated. The aspect I LOVE most about my job is when I teach a combination and the dancer does it on their own for that first time. The joy they have in their eyes comes out to let themselves KNOW they did well. That is what I live for. That moment the confidence TRULY emulates and connects. That first initial "I DID IT!!!"

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started dancing when I was 1 and fell in love with it immediately. I was the child who was taking my class, the class below me, the class above me, and the teacher's could NOT keep me out of the dance room even with the oldest and adult classes. All through my life I decided I was going to start my own business, and after running 2 dance studios owned by other people with their ideas, It is time for me own and run my own with MY ideas.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I wish more parents would stop allowing themselves and their children to be abused by establishments in this profession. I understand there are certain "go getter attitudes" that must go along with any type of profession that deals with keeping current along with and as fast as society's fashion trends. That does not make it acceptable for a child to be made to dance through fear or negative reinforcement. MOTHER: just because you couldn't dance as a child, does not make it ok to force your child to dance so you can live vicariously through them. Dance is an art form that comes from within and is only a successful tool in their lives if they love to do it. If your child does not have it in them, allow them to do something that will help improve their lives and they can grow into the people they are.
