Introduction: With the exception of two years in college, I've had dogs my whole life long, so it is second-nature to me to live with, care for, and train them.
I've been through "obedience," "puppy school," etc. classes, with my own dogs, so I've been exposed to a the techniques used by a number of trainers.
I'd call myself eclectic in my training approach, though I think that dogs, like people, require individualized approaches.
In general, I think that dogs (again, like people) perform best when strong motivators are used to elicit desired behaviors.
