FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I will typically offer from a 5-10% discount if my remodeling proposal is signed within a 2-4 weeks time frame, so I can keep a full schedule, guys busy, and minimize downtime! I will offer a little longer discount time period if the desire to hire is there, but financing needs obtained or something outside the homeowners control warrants a later start date! I am certainly not the cheapest, but I am one of the best, with fair pricing, and I am easy to get along with!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I get a call, text, email, or lead on a site such as Thumbtack for someone needing work done. I contact them, set up a time to go meet with them. I listen to what they are looking to get done, adding in suggestions as necessary/needed. I gather all the information that I will need to give them a complete and thorough estimate. I typically write them up an estimate/proposal either that night or the following evening. I get with them and review the estimate/proposal with the customer, making sure I am on the same page as them and everything is covered. If we agree on the scope of work as well as the price, I get a deposit from the customer and schedule a start date that works for them. We come do the work as contracted. Me and the customer then review the work performed, address any concerns, and when my customer is happy, I collect the final monies owed, including any extras the homeowner may have thrown in or any hidden problems that may have surfaced during work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years of OJT, focus, an inquisitive mind, excellent problem solving capabilities, great people skills. The last three are all a part of a never ending and ongoing training program. You don't have to know it all, you just have to be able to come up with the best solution. A good contractor or tradesmen, highly skilled in his craft/trade, should easily be able to help almost anyone visualize things as they are talking about the project at hand.
