FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer group, private or semi private lessons. Prices are based on the package you choose. The average price for regular students is $35.00 per hour for a group lesson (max 6 students) or $45.00 per half hour for private lessons. Many packages are discounted depending on the number of lessons you buy and number of times a week you ride. All M-F daytime seniors lessons are discounted. And special rates are available for our Tiny Tots program for riders age 4-6.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new customers with no prior riding experience we find a class day and time that meets your needs. I discuss any riding goals you have and a realistic way to help you meet them. I talk to parents about safety and reasonable expectations for lessons with each individual child. Riders with previous experience set up an evaluation lesson. Evaluations allow our instructors the opportunity to see where your skill levels are and advise you on the best class to fit your skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching and training horses for almost 40 years. I worked my way up to head instructor at several different barns. Attending clinics offered by some of the best riders and trainers in the field continues to be one of the best ways I find to learn. I've owned my own barn for the past 24 years. Besides teaching regular English riding in hunter/jumpers for students of all ages, I am a therapeutic riding instructor. This knowledge has given me a special ability to work with senior riders in continuing their ability to keep riding, and with other senior riders that can use the horse as a physical fitness tool, to maintain both physical and mental health.
