How did you get started doing this type of work?
The journey through computer megabytes, hard drive failures, and graphic woes started in the Age of DOS Computers. I started with a local temp agency working in job shop administrative positions, learning about computer software, and the function of a keyboard mouse. At the end of my temp era, I decided to take a serious look at the work-from-home opportunities. This was the start of my new endeavor in business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Through the years, I've worked with professionals in web design, financial advising, internet marketers, and freelance writing. From consulting a start-up internet business owner to hands-on work assisting with project management in web development; in each position I gained the knowledge I needed to succeed as a virtual online business manager.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Several years back, I took a three month contract to work with a Web Developer that specialized in Videography. The position title in the first week - Personal Assistant. Once a level of trust was obtained between the business owner and myself, she felt comfortable asking me for additional assistance in Project Management. This three month contract quickly became a six month commitment with more hours. I enjoyed assisting the owner because our relationship was built off a professional friendship. Even to this day, she emails me and asks me for small little tips or advice if she is having an issue with another contractor. It is a great feeling.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Know exactly what you wish to achieve. Are you looking to grow your business? Do you need temporary help? Know your budget. Are you willing to invest in the assistance of a virtual professional?
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Trust is a huge issue when it comes to working online. In fact, without it all aspects to internet business will fail. My job is to convince you, the business owner, that I mean what I say and that I operate with integrity. I provide a number of business referrals to put professionals at ease.
