After retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps, I started this business with one goal: provide homeowners with honest, dependable craftsmanship and clear communication from start to finish. We specialize in home repairs, fixture installations, flooring, trim carpentry, drywall repair, deck and fence repairs, and other home improvement projects. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most service calls are quoted with upfront, fixed pricing, so you'll know the cost before work begins. Top's Home Solutions has a $135 minimum service call. Larger or more complex projects receive a detailed written estimate, and if the scope of work changes, I'll discuss it with you before moving forward so there are no surprises. I accept cash, check, debit cards, and all major credit cards. Please note that credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing surcharge, while cash, check, and debit card payments do not incur this fee.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every project starts with a conversation. I'll ask questions to understand your goals and may request photos to better evaluate the project. If I have enough information, I'll provide a ballpark estimate before scheduling an on-site visit. For smaller service calls, I can often provide a straightforward quote and get you on the schedule quickly. For larger projects, I'll meet with you in person, discuss the details, and provide a clear written estimate before any work begins. I believe quality workmanship, clear communication, and respect for your home are just as important as the finished project. My goal is to complete work you'll be happy to recommend to your friends and family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Michigan Residential Builder's License and have gained hands-on experience across multiple areas of residential construction, including roofing, fireplace installation, finish carpentry, trim work, cabinetry, doors, stair components, and general home repairs. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to learn from experienced tradesmen in several specialties, which has helped me build a well-rounded skill set. I also make it a priority to stay current with manufacturer installation requirements, building practices, and applicable codes. I believe continuing to learn is one of the best ways to provide quality workmanship and reliable service to my customers.
