FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is listed in my quote. If I have to inspect and price your problem at your house or business, I will charge $100.00, to be paid at time of service. Due to differences in what a particular job may cost, the customer may not want to use my service. If the customer wants me to return at a later date to do the job, this inspection/consultation price will be deleted from the overall contract. If customer decides to use another contractor, the $100.00 pays me for time, gas, and consultation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation, explanation of what is needed to correct the problem. As a homeowner, I try to save other homeowners as much as possible. I don't charge extra for Saturday, Sunday, or after hours calls. Some electrical problems can be solved over the phone, which is free advise. I charge much less than other contractors. I treat all customers like family, same as I would do for my son, daughter, mother or brother, except I don't charge them. I will explain your electrical problems in a manner which you will understand, since I used to teach Basic Electricity for the Adult Education Program.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This is mandatory to maintain a license. The State of Michigan requires all licensed electricians to take all upgrades in 16 hour classes every two years. No classes...no license.
