Introduction: I always work to please my customer and to create beautiful and relevant images that will accomplish precisely what my client requires. At the same time, I bring a wealth of experience, great technical knowledge and an unerring eye for being able to conceive of and create an attractive image out of an otherwise chaotic world. I like getting to meet new people, learning from them, and collaborating with them. Mostly, I just love the process of bringing beauty and unexpected visual excitement to people with my unique way of visualizing the subject at hand.

Photo Editing, Scanning and Restoration

I hired David to scan and edit old family photos. Every photo was edited and enhanced so incredibly well that they are far superior to the original photos. The work was also completed when I was told it would be. I would highly recommend David for any and all photo scanning, editing, and/or restoring. I had a great experience!

Photo Editing, Scanning and Restoration

I gave David a photo of my mother. They only photo I have of my mother, the rest of the photos were lost in a fire. He took a badly damaged photo and worked magic with it .I was blown away with the finish work. Thank you, David for your professionalism. You do good work. I have my family going through their photo albums to try and find more. Thanks again, David.

Wedding and Event Photography

David Franklin was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our trade association was hosting its very first virtual event at a live production studio not too far from Detroit. We contacted David on the same week, giving him little notice and direction, but from the work he produced you couldn't tell. It was immediately evident that David was a pro who is very meticulous with his attention to detail. He was able to produce more high quality photographs for us than any other event photographer in the past. He followed the proposed schedule to a T. He made sure we understood any potential technical conflicts of shooting in a live production and we were able to resolve them right away. His prices are reasonable and affordable and you receive your amazing pictures back within a short timeframe. If you want to make sure your event or gathering is captured properly, than David is you guy. Thank you David.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

For the type and level of the work I do, plus the expertise, talent, determination to get everything right every time, and the resources I bring to each job, my prices are very consistently low. Why and how is this possible? It's possible because, first, I jettisoned the incredibly high monthly overhead that was necessary to operate my previous very large studio and pay my employees. Then, second, by working on my own and, only when necessary, with freelance assistants, doing on-location work only, I have cut the need to charge my clients the very large fees I previously required.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, I ask my client the most important question: what do you want to bring away from this job - what the subject is, how the client wants it to appear, what are their general and specific expectations. Next, I ask the further questions of my client that my long experience suggests. Then, armed with their answers, I give the client an idea of how I will do his or her job, what resources I will bring to the job, how the client can best prepare for the shoot, what the results of the shoot will be and how the results can be delivered.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

As to education and training, I am a college graduate with a BA in art and literature and, off-topic, attended law school at night for three years as well. As for my truly relevant education and training, I have been an upper-tier professional photographer, catering to the needs of some of the biggest, most famous and most demanding corporate and individual clients in the country for over 30 years, and what I know about photography and retouching of photography could fill many instructional textbooks many times over. In fact, I have taught many aspiring professional photographers their craft and gave them their starts.
