FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 30 min or 45 min lessons with set prices. I also charge for lessons missed for personal choices I.e. school or friend activities. My fee has remained the same for a number of years: $18 for 1/2 hour, and $25 for 45 minutes.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Set up a possible lesson time. If needed, have a Meet & Greet time, 1st, especially if there are special needs. If a parent has a set of books passed down or given to them, I am always willing to take a look. Otherwise, I buy the music, and I am reimbursed at the first lesson. There will generally be a main lesson series book, an exercise book, and a theory book to begin. Music of a particular interest can be added as the student becomes ready.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a part of the National Piano Guild and participate in the Auditions each year. I am also a member of a local guild of piano teachers. I majored in music in college & have a BME (Bachelor of Music Education) degree.
