Helvig Productions is a full-service recording and music production studio located in the Excelsior neighborhood, near Lake Minnetonka, 25 minutes west of Minneapolis. It's located on a very private and wooded lot, giving artists the sense of being "out of town" but only 25 minutes from downtown. While we offer all services associated with a traditional studio, we specialize in vocal production and mixing. We really pride ourselves on being that extra bandmate - someone that can support the project as an engineer, producer, or songwriter - whatever is needed. We thrive on collaborations and really want the artist's intentions and voice to be heard. All genres are welcome, as well as all stages of projects. Sometime we are there from start to finish, other times we just help with one part of the journey. Whatever the case, we're here for you!

Stephen is a master of his craft. He will take your ideas and help you bring them to life in the best way. Hes attentive, understanding, and knowledgeable, really just a cool guy all around. He would more than likely record a track for you and then come to your first ever show in Minneapolis to give you his support after you got the master. Every project is different. The amount of time needed depends on the type of song, instrumentation, arrangement and production.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We want to make sure that we are the right studio for you. In order to do that we'll start off by scheduling a phone call or studio tour to talk about your project, budget, and goals. If we seem like the correct fit, we'll develop a game plan and move forward from there.
