- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing includes travel within reason, I'm willing to go further out for some extra gas/time money, but it depends on traffic and distance. Also, parking fees are extra if I'm downtown or another location which requires paid parking. Because parking fees vary so much with events and times of the day/days of the week, I cannot give a general cost in my pricing. I have a few massage partners that I can perform couples massage with. There is no discount for two massages massages when bringing along another therapist, but if I can do the massages back to back, a $15 discount applies to the subsequent massage(s). I am open to doing several 30-60 min massages back to back (for girl's night in or other get-togethers), contact for pricing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important to find out what the goal of the session will be. I like to inquire about how a client uses their body as well as what areas they want focused on or even avoided (don't like the scalp done? ticklish feet?). I also need to know about any major health concerns, injuries/surgeries, and allergies.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a one year program at Nevada School of Massage Therapy in 2006. We studied swedish, injury, shiatsu, acupressure, craniosacral, hydrotherapy, russian sports massage, sports massage, and a few other modalities. Since then, I've taken some extra courses to enhance my therapy and I personally consider getting massages from a variety of practitioners to be a great learning tool as well. I recently got my degree to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant and am currently working on my bachelor's in Human Biology with hopes of becoming an Occupational Therapist after that. I'll still continue to massage, of course!
