Introduction: I respect the desires of client expectations and go out of my way to help address issues of design within the limits of possibility and expense. Because of my expertise and knowledge about fabrics, I can help find, choose, and order the appropriate choice. I particularly love working with natural fibers-silk, linen and wool. As an artist, I've learned to work with dye and magic can happen with color. Since I am employed as an interior designer full time, my desire to create the most artistic and well-fitted garment in my evening and weekend hours allows both of us to feel excitement about the creative process as well as the outcome. Attention to detail and fitting make you feel your best when the garment is worn. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have an honorable approach to billing and can keep within a budget. My services and experience are well within and often below other design experts. I charge hourly or estimate the project based on materials and time.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I meet with the client and listen to their desires. At that time I help to make artistic or helpful suggestions as to how the project can be produced, and the time needed for completion. We discuss fabric choices and pricing and I take measurements. Every meeting is a personal and mutually collaborative experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fiber and painting, and I have exhibited Nationally my artworks for more than 30 years. My years of experience has given me the ability to satisfy the desired outcome in a reasonable amount of time. The process of making is always relational and an educational opportunity. Finding a creative solution to any design problem takes desire, ingenuity, and time. I am only lacking in time.
