FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In general, I work on a 3-point compensation system: a) There's an initial retainer. b) There's a balance due at arrival (for keynote addresses), or strategic milestones (for projects). c) I expect you to make some kind of contribution to your community from the increase you receive. Then, I ask you to tell me about it! (I'm really after the story, of how my work has helped a community somewhere. Either that, or I charge you, and make a donation on your behalf!) Actual pricing depends on the scope and scale of the solution you want, from $4,800 on the low end for a simple Self-Leadership program, or $24,000 a year to help a small-business implement a basic leadership framework, all the way up to Enterprise Level Solutions that are determined by Value-Based Pricing according to the value of what we create together. Note: For simplicity of book-keeping, decision-making, and approval, once it has been agreed upon, all of the above can be reduced to a simple flat rate, and invoiced accordingly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! -- While I am not formerly required to get any kind of CEUs, I am a voracious consumer of any and all kinds of Leadership, Success, Personal Development, Business, and related seminars, workshops, talks and training that I can find. I particularly think YouTube, TED, and related sites are fantastic for giving us instant access to decades worth of the best seminars, workshops, and training that only a few once had exclusive access to. Also, when I can, I attend seminars of other experts in their field. I have a tendency to like to study things up to a leadership level, so I can teach them. Along the way, I have 'collected' various certifications, expertise, and titles like: Black Belt Instructor in Knockdown Karate, Clinical Therapist, International Master Trainer in NLP/CHT, a college minor in music, IT Certifications in Microsoft NT, Cisco, etc., Certification as a Neuro-Semantic Meta-Coach. It got to a point where I stopped getting certified in other people's systems, and started developing my own. Right now, I have a Master Trainer and a group of Trainers in Istanbul, Turkey who are the beta-group for a Self-Leadership system, and Enterprise Development Framework (tm), that I am developing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Grew up in apartheid South Africa. My dad died when I was 16. Married someone with borderline personality disorder. Ended up doing pastoral counseling evenings and weekends, and working in the 'townships' at the height of the civil unrest, while trying to help launch a successful IT company. So, on multiple fronts, I had to become an expert in helping people change -- individually, in groups and teams, in organizations, and entire communities as a whole. In what seems like a multitude of different forms, my entire life has really been about one thing -- helping compassionate leaders, lead other leaders!
