The process of drying involves measuring the moisture in the wet material, but in order to dry the wet material, we have to measure the moisture in the air, and begin drying the air to IICRC S500 Standards. We then cause evaporation of the wet dry surface moving the water from a solid state to a vapor state, as we continue drying the air. Measurements of the wet material, and wet air, are considered dry as defined by the IICRC S500 Standard, thus completing the water mitigation process. All measurements are documented on a moisture map and explained to the customer so they understand what "dry" really means for their home.
