Hiring Dave for a plumbing job is like having a good old independent, highly competent, and experienced plumber from yesteryear work in your home. He does good solid work. Also like a dependable Minnesotan from a smaller town, he’s a man of few words. When he was done, he gave me my invoice, I paid, and he departed. He told me to see the manual about interacting with the system. He didn’t like it when I subsequently texted him questions about just how far he went in the manual in terms of system set-up and initiation. Had he spent 5 minutes with me when he was done and explained just what he had done, such questions would have been unnecessary. Life is filled with trade offs. Would I hire Dave again? Certainly. Only next time, I wouldn’t let him out of the house before he answered my lingering customer questions. 🙃

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Service call - $95. Parts are extra if necessary. Install customer bought softener - $275. Sell and install mine - Pentair Fleck 5800sxt $1285. Plus sales tax.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is best if I can communicate directly with the customer to discuss their specific situation. Phone is best because texts and emails usually take quite a few back and forth sends to cover the situation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes annually. State required continual education.
