Our kitchens take on average a week to complete. We keep you with a functioning sink. Every countertop & floor are unique . the countertops & our floors are made with the latest products. Our "spray on option exceeds industry standards we use a porcelain, combined with acrylic, and the final coat is tougher than nails. We have a new product added to our line. (After extensive testing)- it's called our "Rhino" line. These tops are amazing- in both strength & beauty. It is a green product (currently only available in solid colors) Both countertops are UV resistant, withstand up to 500 degrees, scratch resistant. Our floors look just as amazing & durable for any room.
Having been in the construction field over 30 yrs. - experience would be my biggest asset.
I'm a kitchen designer. When I work with clients on kitchens- I like the challenge every job brings. Putting together a kitchen that is functionally & compliments the "taste of the chef" of the house. I also meet a lot of great families. I've attended their weddings, outings, & even vacationed together.

I needed a kitchen counter top for my kitchen remodel project. All the companies I contacted wanted 3 weeks at a minimum. Merl and Nick came right over, measured, got all the materials and had the most gorgeous counter top all installed in 2 days. Wow what a help!! Unfortunately, the top was inadvertently marred. I texted them thinking all was lost and they returned on a weekend to redo the whole top. It looked even better than before. They treated my project as if it were their very own. Merl and Nick are can do people. They will use their evenings and weekends to help you out and finish your projects even if it involves extra work not in the original scope. You will really like working with them. I sure did.

Thinking about a new kitchen? Look no further. Merl and Nick will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in their power to make your dreams come true. Our kitchen was 41 years old, original to the house, oak cabinets, plaid wallpaper, powder blue vinyl floor. Now? I want to buy an area rug and live in my kitchen full time. Merl listened to my design ideas, and incorporated all she possibly could in the final design. Nick came on site in snow, rain, and a polar vortex to rip apart my kitchen, then rebuild it from scratch. I didn't realize it at the time but our kitchen is not very big. With their 30+ year partnership, Nick and Merl were able to turn our boring kitchen into a useful, productive, and BEAUTIFUL space. From the lighting to the custom pantry/portable island, I simply am amazed at the transformation. And now I get to live here and cook in it!! :-) Thank you Kitchen and Flooring Express!!!

Merl did a great job with my kitchen, taking the time to really understand my vision when other contractors thought it was silly. But, when it was all together, the combination of epoxy countertops and a penny backsplash looks amazing. Merl and her team were very professional, and they even gave me a discount after I smudged the wet countertops and she had to refinish them.

Nick and Merl Jensen have many years of experience with home construction. They did a great job putting up a wood ceiling in on of my bedrooms.

Merl is fantastic. She designs as if it were for her own home. She is flexible with costs. All costs are a la carte, so if you want to do the tear out, or painting, to help defer costs, you can. I recommend them for any job.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. We charge by the sq ft + options that are individually priced out. Our Estimates are itemized typically, so customers can see how it is allotted. Sometimes customers may opt to wait on part of project, or do something themselves to save
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most important art meeting with a new customer is to make sure they understand the process, understand the product, verification of measurements.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in CADD & Interior design. My husband has 5 yrs experience as Project Manager for local Coatings company. This company worked primarily commercial. Throughout the years we have worked with epoxy as we would do kitchen & bathroom remodeling. We graduated into doing it exclusively. So we changed the name. We are licensed with state of Minnesota. (We put it on hold- as a license isn't required for Epoxy Coatings).
