FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been helping with the family tree farm since I was able to handle a pruners, and have been in the gardens with my mom just as long. I started working for my first client in 2003 and have been growing since! In 2012 I graduated with my B.S. in Horticulture from the University of MN- Twin Cities. My experience spans the nursery, forestry, management, floriculture, greenhouse, design, installation, and maintenance aspects of the green industry.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do some homework! Don't let a company bully you around and tell you what works for you. Have an idea of what you like, even if it's as simple as a flower color preference, or maybe you don't really like grasses. Stop by some garden centers and take pictures of plants you like. If the company you hire cannot tell you how to care for the plants they install, keep shopping around. Why spend the money on a project if it looks like your neighbors'? The design should reflect you and your likes!
