- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer I first like to get a sense of who they are. I like to chat for just a minute, even if it's just about what event they are going to or what the makeup look they're asking for is. I am very good at connecting with people and reading people, so by just chatting a few moments I can get a feel for how the process with this particular client should flow. As we're discussing what kind of look they're going for I will be studying their face and setting up my makeup and tools at the same time. As soon as I'm set up we'll go over the look one last time and if they are comfortable and give me the go ahead, I begin! I am sure to check in with the client throughout the service several times in case they need a break of any kind or have any kind of concerns. After the job is completed and the client is happy with her look I will end by giving them my business card, and probably a few extra to give to any interested friends, the client will pay me for my service and I will wish them a wonderful time!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
-I previously graduated from Regency Beauty Academy through their Esthetician (skin care, waxing, makeup artistry, etc.) program. -After receiving my MN state Estheticians license, I worked as the lead esthetician at a well-known salon and spa for several years. -I worked as an independent makeup artist for Studio Gear Cosmetics for several years. -I have worked at runway shows doing makeup and theatre shows doing stage makeup. -Most recently I have worked as a beauty educator; educating clients on products, recommending the best beauty products for them based on their needs and wants, and providing education and tips and tricks on how to use said products. -I have just completed the MN required 60 hour refresher course for esthiology and passed my in-person practical exam with a perfect score. I also scored very highly, on all 3 Minnesota State Board Exams for Esthiology and am currently awaiting my updated estheticians license to arrive in the mail.
