- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most assembly jobs are done per job, not per hour. This gives you full transparency knowing your estimate of expenses before we even step into your home. Additionally, Thumbtack is not free! The contractor (Build My Stuff LLC) pays Thumbtack for every single customer that reaches out to us. Our prices reflect this advertising cost. Once we have established a relationship with you, future prices are lower as there is no further Thumbtack fee. Our prices also reflect our full insurance coverage. You may find that we are more expensive than some competitors. Ask those providers if they can provide proof insurance. We can, giving you peace of mine that you are protected.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to understand the full scope of the job - what do you need assembled and when. We like pictures, links, or make/model of the products whenever possible. We look up the assembly instruction prior to giving you a quote and prior to showing up for the job. This puts us in the best position possible to provide great service. Prices are cheaper when the product has already been moved into the room where it will be assembled.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There is no formal education or training for assembly services. We believe our past reviews and pictures of products speak for themselves.
