FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We quote flat, not hourly. You get a number before we start and that's the number, unless you change the scope or we hit something underground nobody could see from the surface. If that happens we stop and talk to you before we spend your money. Design work is billed up front and separately, because a real plan takes real time and the plan is yours either way. Snow is either a seasonal contract, one price for the whole winter with unlimited visits at your trigger depth, or per push where you pay by the storm. Seasonal is the better value in a heavy winter and the worse one in a light winter. We'll tell you honestly which fits your property.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You call or message us and we ask enough questions to figure out whether we're actually the right company for the job. If we're not, we'll say so. Then we walk the property. That's not a sales visit, it's where we find the drainage problem, the soft spot, the tree that's going to be a problem in three years. You get a written quote with the scope spelled out so you can compare it honestly against anyone else's. Once you approve it we schedule you, tell you what days we'll be there, and show up when we said we would. We keep the site clean at the end of every day, not just at the end of the job. When it's finished we walk it with you before we leave.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over a decade of hands on work in Twin Cities landscaping, mostly high end residential and commercial, before starting Freshwater. That's the real education in this trade. Nobody learns base compaction or how frost moves through Minnesota soil in a classroom. We keep up with manufacturer specs on the paver and wall systems we install, because the warranty depends on building to spec and most failures come from installers ignoring it.
