Sarah works with natural light on location. Sarah works with natural lighting instead of artificial because it possesses a special and rare beauty that you can't find anywhere else. During a session, you may choose to have your location be at your home, an enjoyable outdoor setting or any place that you feel the most comfortable. Sarah may also suggest some locations in your area if you are unable to decide. Sarah has found that younger children do best at home, since it is a setting they are more familiar with, while older children might like to explore a place that is new and exciting to them. If you are choosing an outdoor setting, Sarah recommends it would take place between 8-11:00 a.m. or 3-7:00 p.m. During the times listed, this is when Sarah finds daylight in its prime's soft, tranquil, sweet and subtle as the sun lowers in the sky. High School seniors are also allowed more time for clothing and location changes. She encourages fun colors, rich textures and layers. Overall, the outfits that describe you the most are best. For sessions with families, Sarah recommends picking 2 to 3 colors and basing clothing choices around those colors you've chosen. Clothing should also compliment the locations you or Sarah has chosen. Sarah Illick Photography does not concentrate in doing portraits which are considered to be posed. Sarah desires to capture those simple and special moments that happen naturally and comfortably on location in her sessions with clients.
