Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

Completely ruined our front porch! We hired Nick to repair our porch step. He recommended replacing the entire porch. We should have known not to hire him after so many red flags. He did not want to communicate through Thumbtack, requested money upfront, showed up hours late the first day, did not have any of the correct tools, but we still gave him a chance. This is what he left us with the day before Thanksgiving! He sprayed concrete all over our front door, stucco, and brick. The concrete is poured over an inch under where it should be, so there is a gap under the door. Destroyed Stucco wood under door and broke bricks on house. When pouring steps he made them different heights. Uneven Trowel lines through the whole front porch, with huge bow in concrete out at front step from bad form work. Now after hiring Nick, we have to pay a company to remove the concrete he poured, repair and repair our brick and stucco, and replace our post.

The splatter can be cleaned at end of job and anyone that's done anything like this knows that. When it comes to design of step and the(bend) it was added on purpose you can tell by how even the curve is. There were no specifics on contract f0r height on any concrete level. Your stairs to start with where 14 inches high on bottom step and 7 and half inches for second step. So they were different sizes before job started. There not uneven trowel lines but are broom tread marks for grip. The stucco was attached to old concrete and was shown and discussed with her husband Mike. And I have pics of before job and bricks were already cracked and broke. It's funny when people get I to a job and don't w t to pay the things they come up with. Just so they can say I didn't finish the job for payment. I was late the first day due to bigger obligations ( a families water line busted and had no water flow to wash there 3 kids so I prioritized getting then sqyared away. The payment upfront was needed for all material and I have a recipe to prove that deposit went all to the project.
