- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon receiving a response from Thumbtack, I typically work up 2-3 menu ideas based on budget, seasonal food items, any particular cuisine and submit to the client. Once the menu has been decided upon, I provide a service agreement and ask for a deposit check. For larger events, such as a wedding reception, I offer the client the opportunity to sample items from the menu.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked with a number of chefs from around the world, attended courses in London at Le Cordon Bleu, and continue to work on my craft.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always enjoyed cooking and baking. Many years ago I took a cake decorating class. After each class I'd stop at a business along my way home and drop off the cake from that day's lesson. Soon I was getting phone calls asking about a baby shower or a wedding reception - before long, I was on my way.
