My decision to go with Luminous Flooring was based upon how quickly they got back with me when we were going through the quoting. They were pleasant to talk to throughout the entire process, yet there were few downsides, as I had to keep reaching out to get information, along with workers showing up late on the first day (which I was late to work because of).
I had roughly 1,000 sq ft of engineered hardwood installed.
Pros: Very respectful and arrived early each day to begin work. Listened to my concerns about not cutting into potential asbestos and worked with me to create a transfer over it. They sent me pictures each day of the work they had completed for the day, which I appreciated. They did a beautiful job of cutting in around my kitchen cabinets, along with cutting door jams. They trimmed the doors down further when I requested and did a great job cleaning up after everything was laid down.
Cons: After the first day of them laying down the floor, I saw that they had installed it with H joints along with a long staircase joint. I notified the installer, and he was able to fix some of them, but the ones further in, he did not fix. As they continued the work, they didn't install any more H joints until my last room on the last day. I guess they got lazy as they wanted to finish it up, and H joints are scattered throughout the flooring. It's disappointing to see them, as I had already pointed out that I don't like them.
The three doorways where there was a transfer from new wood floors to old carpet, they didn't rehang the doors. So I had to go put them back up.
As they were working, they had damaged two separate spots in the wall, and when I notified the manager, he personally came out to patch up the wall, which I really appreciated! Yet after he left and I came to look at the wall, I noticed a small amount of plaster is now caked into my new flooring. Albeit it is very small and probably only noticeable to me, it's frustrating to have my floors already tainted. I will have to work on getting it out when I can.
Overall, I am very happy with the flooring, but it's hard for me not to be nitpicky over a big purchase like this!

Matt with Luminous Flooring came out and gave me a competitive price to refinish approximately 2400 square feet of hardwoodfloors in my three of my rental houses. Matt sent his lead guy Dave, and Dave's Crew to refinish my hardwoodfloors, Dave and his crew were very hard workers, completely professional, and they did an OUTSTANDING JOB on the floors at all three of my houses. The floors look beautiful. I would highly recommend this company to my family and friends. I will be hiring them again in the future. Just a great job and experience with this company!!!!

Matt and his crew did a great job on our upstairs and downstairs floors. They put down sample stains, let us pick what we desired, and fixed a few areas we pointed out that had a few blemishes. Matt was honest that refinishing some of my floor wasn't a great idea and helped us pick a good prefinished hardwood product for those areas. I would work with him again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We can at least match if not beat most material prices as long as we're comparing apples to apples. Please send me your material quote and let me get you a better price. We have a 750 sq ft showroom with 1000s of hardwood flooring options.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We always want to come see the project with our own eyes. Every floor is different and every project has its own individual obstacles. We cannot give you an accurate quote without seeing it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are members in good standing with the NWFA. We have more NWFA certified professionals on our staff than any other company in our area. We are also Bona Certified.
