FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically a traffic or criminal case is a flat fee. That fee varies depending on the facts of the case, severity level of the charge, potential penalties, etc. Fees do not include a trial.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an initial call or meeting discussing the client's concerns, and expectations of the case. I enter an appearance on the case, request the discovery, and thoroughly evaluate the evidence. We then discuss the best strategies for proceeding with the case, whether to seek a resolution from the prosecutor, or preparing for a trial or other litigation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my law degree from the University of Kansas in May 2008. My experience includes nearly a decade as a state prosecutor, handling thousands of cases and conducting nearly 100 trials. Cases handled included everything from misdemeanor DUI and domestic violence to serious felonies including but not limited to murder, rape, DUI manslaughter, aggravated robbery, and drug felonies. Prior experience also includes handling appellate work and successfully arguing in front of state appellate courts. I am licensed to practice law in Kansas, Missouri, and the Federal District of Kansas and Western District of Missouri.
