Full disclosure, we were a bit skeptical simply because everything seemed too legit and too good to be true. We were able to get on the schedule quickly, it was the best priced quote we had received, phone calls and text messages were answered promptly...there had to be a catch. The only thing was, there wasn’t. They showed up when they said, the job was done earlier than originally anticipated and even though there were a couple additional unforeseen items that required extra materials, they stuck to the agreed upon price and didn’t nickel and dime us. The deck looks fantastic, the crew was professional and friendly...couldn’t ask for anything more. We were truly impressed and would hire again in a heartbeat. Can’t recommend these guys highly enough!

Details: Application of finishes (sanding, staining, painting) • Repair minor cracks, gaps, or holes • Repair one or few decking boards • Wood • Residential

Maniaci Construction was supposed to pick up a new PTAC unit and replace my old one, then haul away the old one. They sort of did all of this...however, before he replaced the unit, the thermostat was working, and after he left, it won't even turn on. I contacted him to have him come back and get it working again (as it was fine before he got there), but he just said to flip the breaker to reset it and if that doesn't work, then I have to get a new one. Why would I need a new one when it was working fine before he started his work? Plus, he took very expensive filters that are required for my new unit to work. Very frustrated, and feeling like I've been taken advantage of because I'm a woman who doesn't know any better. I had to pay $160 to another company to rewire the unit and get it working.

Details: I need help with one project or a few simple projects, less than 2 hours of work • Installation • Living room • Windows • Residential • I'm ready to hire the right handyman based on price & fit

After 2 1/2 months the work was completed but it was as a long and painful process. Poor communication, no shows, every excuse in the book for not returning phone calls and texts. But when it came time to invoice it was immediate and the Office assistant called one day after asking for payment!! The only good thing was the installer was very professional, timely and he took a bad situation and made it right. I think he may have lost his job for his good deed. I would not recommend.

Details: I need help with a variety of projects, approximately 2-5 hours of work • Installation • Assembly • Bedroom • Doors • Windows • Hanging pictures or mirrors • Residential

It’s sad, that you know that the storm door was a special order, and we had to wait on that door to come In. Yet you complain about that. My employee didn’t lose his job but for you to think he was so professional you certainly tried to make him lose his job by being unprofessional yourself. This boils down to a lady that has a very old house, that needs a few things, and wants a brand new house but doesn’t want to pay new house cost. And I understand being picky, but you have to understand that there is only so much you can do with old houses. There have been several hiccups with this job, most of that being Home Depot’s fault with the delivery being delayed. I cannot control that. Then, the home owner basically demanding that she be there for the install, but only available on the weekday after 5pm. This is our busiest time of year, and after Home Depot was late on delivery it messed our whole schedule up, we tried to work her in as soon as possible but clearly that was not good enough. It’s sad that we work our tails off out here everyday, and the thanks we get for trying to do our best and help people is rewarded by bad reviews. But half the people that you help, won’t leave a good review. It’s only the bad experiences that are talked about. But in our situation, they are usually created by bitter people. That can’t be made happy try as we might. God bless you Sharon.
