FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There is a supply cost for each project. There is a mileage fee & small handling fee for pickup & Delivery. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at commencement of work. If your project is scheduled more than a week out, there is a small non-refundable booking fee to secure your date.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I become familiar with your piece through photos and establish any issues with your piece. We discuss any repairs to be made & what you would like done, style, color etc. We arrange drop off or pick up of your item(s). The time it takes to complete a furniture project depends on the condition of the piece, size and number of pieces and desired look. I normally estimate 14 to 30 days for small projects. 45 days or more for multiple pieces or extensive projects. Kitchen Cabinet projects are typically more of an expedited process based on the essential need for a functioning kitchen, depending on the number of cabinets/pieces you have to be refinished. Estimate anywhere from 10 to 21 business days.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always admired older furniture and had in interest in wood working. My father has worked with his hands his entire life, so I suppose some of that passion trickled down to me. I have taken art & woodworking classes and have read several books relating to furniture refinishing. I am constantly educating myself on the proper handling of different types of wood and the proper use of materials and supplies that I use on a regular basis. My education and the desire to create, combined with time & practice on dozens of pieces of furniture, has allowed me to reach a high level of skill and professionalism.
