First of all I never ask for any pay until after the first days work on the job. We have two painters that where in painters union as I was for years. We have a carpenter from the union here in St. louis. We know exactly what bids run from large companies. Example. A room painting, size 12x12 feet is charged about $432.00 labor by the larger companies. Our charge would be for the same room $216.00 labor. I just don't think that there insurance is that much higher than ours. We are just as fast and just as good, if not better at half the price. Lastly, we hire Vets first or their spouses. We teach them a trade so that they too may go out and start their own business. Making the home much more attractive from when we started the job. I also have a campground for nine years in Pevely Missouri that I work on non-stop with every aspect of construction.
