Debbie Poindexter Piano Studio
Introduction: I have openings for students during the day and particularly enjoy teaching homeschooled students. I am available for lessons in my home, and in some instances, I am available to teach in a student's home.
I have a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Montevallo (Alabama) and a master's degree in piano performance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory of Music. I studied classical piano under Witold Turkevicz, Robert Cowan and Richard Cass.
I have been teaching private piano lessons since graduate school and got my start with UMKC's Continuing Education program. In 2013, I completed 25 years of homeschooling for our eight children. In addition to teaching piano, I have served as music director at my church.

We love Mrs. Poindexter!! My son has been taking piano lessons from her for over a year now. He is progressing well and really enjoys his lessons. Mrs. Poindexter is always very positive in the way she teaches. She is a gifted pianist and teacher.

Debbie has taught both my girls piano for > 5 years.
Both my kids enjoy her teaching style as well as her kind spirit.
Debbie is very knowledgable regarding music and it's instruction.
While it"s important to find a knowledgable music instructor, it's equally important to find one whom your children will find likable.
With Debbie, this is a win-win! My kids equally enjoy her personality and teaching style!

Debbie has been piano teacher for both of my sons. She's an excellent teacher! She challenges them, is kind to them, is patient, creative, open, and knowledgeable. A born teacher!

Debbie is a wonderful, kind and patient lady and piano teacher! She is very good with the kids and gently and lovingly teaches and encourages them as they develop their skills! We highly recommend her! She is awesome and our kids love her so much!
