We like to make sure our clients have as much peace of mind as possible, and we only give them the very best; that is why all of our walkers/sitters use our GPS check in software for each visit/walk, and it shows us precisely where they are throughout the day, what time they arrive, and how long they are with each pet. *** A WORD FROM SARAH ZUMHOFE, OWNER OF PET FIRST PET CARE: I have always had a love and special connection with animals. Ever since a young age, I knew I wanted to work with animals. I have been working professionally with animals for 12 years, since the age of 18. I have been a pet care associate at big chain pet stores and a veterinary technician. I loved that with those jobs, I could work with animals, but I also started to realize that I wanted to work for myself, while still working with animals. This line of business is so rewarding and fulfilling. The most fulfilling projects, are the projects that require me to work my hardest at. Those are the dogs that pull a lot when I first walk them, and they become good walkers, or the pets that are initially the most withdrawn, and they learn to trust me and we become close friends. For example, I have one client that rescued abused dogs. They adopted 3 different pugs that were all formerly abused by their previous owners. It broke my heart to learn that... But I thought it was such a noble thing their new pet parents did, to look for animals in need to adopt and show them a better life; and I was glad they were now in a loving home. I was also happy I could help them to trust people again and give them the love and affection that they so deserved. When I first started working with them, they were terrified and defensive and would bark the entire time I was there. It was a very loud 20 minutes... It took weeks, and several projects with them, for them to really learn to trust me. Now they love me and are excited when I am there. I am their best buddy. They love me, and I love them so much! My workers have worked with them as well, and the pugs are now close to them. They have finally learned, that not all people are bad people. They have slowly learned to trust again. It is triumphs like these, that make my career amazingly fulfilling and worth it all.
