FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone with experience that has a "cut no corners" mindset. Any corners that are cut to shave costs up front usually cost more in the long run. With all tradesmen, mentorship is crucial to the foundation of their skill sets. Find someone who actively networks with other service providers in their industry, through Associations and trade shows, as well as consults with product manufacturers. It's amazing how much one can learn from your peers that are not your direct competitors, and from manufacturing companies who want their products to stand the test of time. No one knows everything, so be wary of contractors who are not continuing to build their skills through mentorship and continued self education. This is key to tools and techniques, but especially important when it comes to product knowledge. With all the latest and greatest new products that keep coming out, unfortunately they are often installed by a company that hasn't done their homework. So the product fails 5 to 10 years later, but if it was properly installed, it could have lasted 25 years or more. That gets really expensive, and instead of being penny-wise, it is a pound-foolish route for the property owner.
