Counseling goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: John Hawkins' goal as a counselor is to help clients become more loving, accepting, and also become aware of themselves and others, so that clients can live a more fruitful, fulfilled, and stress-free lives. I work with adults, couples, adolescents, families, and gifted children. Both day and evening appointments are available. I use cognitive-behavior therapy and other counseling models to work with clients with different issues including depression and anxiety, couple's problems, divorce and other losses, life transitions, stress management, spiritual problems, lifestyle changes, anger management, shame and fear issues, abuse and past wounds, self-esteem and confidence issues, adolescent issues, behavior problems in children, etc. My ideal client tends to have these qualities: Is self-motivated and ready to make lasting change—I usually limit myself to working with committed, serious clients only. Is willing to take risks and try new things—I will ask clients to think in a fresh way, and also ask them to take actions that may be different from their normal way of behaving. Values honest and direct feedback—I am committed to each client's personal healing and growth. Understands what therapy is about—Clients should know the value of keeping appointments, following through on tasks between sessions, and being honest with themselves and me.
