- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read a lot, look at what the new fads in design and watch some cake shows but that's it. I really get my ideas and inspiration from my clients, for a truly personalized experience.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've known since the age if 16 I wanted to be a chef. At the age of 24, I moved to Chicago and had the privilege to train under one of the Top 10 pastry chefs in the world. That was an amazing time in my life and my passion for cake came to fruition. I've been designing cakes now for over 20 years.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I meet with my clients for tastings and design ideas for wedding and grooms cakes. I also do special events cakes too. I also help my brides think through everything, from flavor, design, size of cake, to linens, colors, serving utensils, plateaus, etc. It's more than cake for me... It's about the entire experience. I really approach it from like a consulting perspective.
