Steve is a true professional and has a sense of craftsmanship about his work that's rare today. Really went above and beyond to make something sturdy, durable, and attractive without a lot of extra add on cost. He built a new mailbox post for me and also fixed a fence gate that had certain portions rotted - not just replacing the bad wood but taking care that everything was well aligned and the latch closed without effort, etcetera. Highly recommend.

I’ve had Steve from SMS builders do multiple projects at my home from rewiring my garage to putting in ceiling fans and installing base boards to plumbing work. He also built a screened in room on my deck. His work has always been of the highest quality and his prices have always been reasonable.

First, Steve is a joy to work with.
With our input, he designed and constructed a beautiful solid wood porch railing for our 118-yr old home. He asked excellent questions, and even provided material samples to help with the design process. His finished work captured the aesthetic and scale of our home beautifully, as if it was part of the original builder’s plan.
Without hesitation, we’d recommend Steve for finished-carpentry and other construction projects. We plan to work on other home projects in the near future.

Steve retro fitted sliding shelves in all my kitchen cabinets. He also fixed some electrical issues and plumbing problems as well as installing two new toilets. I had to have some concrete cut and removed and then replaced. He did a great job. A portion of my retaining wall had to be rebuilt and he handled that as well. I will be hiring him again for some upcoming projects.

I recently hired Steve to remodel my bathroom and update the siding on my home, and the results are outstanding. His attention to detail shows in every corner of the bathroom and every panel of siding. Steve communicates clearly, works efficiently, and treats your home with respect. I’m extremely happy with the quality of his work and highly recommend him for any home improvement project.
