What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
yes, i try to stay up to date on the evolving market and materials coming into the trade. just recently i was certified as a "wedi" installer. they manufacture a complete line of waterproof shower systems and floor applications.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father has had a stone and tile company in Maui since 1991. i started working for him when i was 8 years old by sanding and honing a travertine floor. i have been running tile saws ever since
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently i took a fireplace built in 1973 into the modern era. after removing all the outdated stone veneer, i constructed a mantle and mounted it so that there would be no brackets showing. it just appears to be a granite mantle sticking out of the wall.
