I am in Boone, Banner Elk , Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock North Carolina June through October. I handle all types of weddings and vow renewals. My price usually starts at $190 plus travel. I will help you get your marriage license. I am credentialed with American Marriage Ministries and have a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I will work with you to create a wedding ceremony that fits your style!

Barbara is truly one of a kind! She was an amazing officiant for our elopement in Banner Elk, NC. She genuinely went above and beyond to make sure it was a special day.
When we booked her, she was very responsive and helped us find venues and was so willing to go out of her way to find us any information we needed for the elopement. She ensured we had everything we needed for the day of as well. On the day of, she had arrived to the venue early to even make sure everything was ready to go for us.
During the ceremony, she was so professional and gave us exactly what we we wanted and hoped for. We were fortunate enough to also meet her husband, Wayne. He went out of his way as well to make sure it was perfect. They both advocated for us even when challenges came up during the ceremony and they make a really great team.
I would 10/10 recommend Barbara to anybody looking for a reliable officiant that will really make your day feel extra special.

Barb did an amazing job with our wedding at the mast farm inn. She was very responsive and was willing to meet multiple times before the big day including the rehearsal which helped iron out all the little details. We really customized our ceremony and she was very helpful answering questions of how things are normally done and making suggestions while also being very positive and ensuring that we can do whatever we want, it’s our day! Her and her husband are very kind and sweet. She was very clear and it was obvious she had gone over our guideline. There were no awkward pauses, everything was very smooth. Bard did a great job!

Barb was fantastic! We were supposed to have an outside ceremony but rain on the wedding day had other plans. Barb helped keep everyone calm as last minute we changed our entire plan. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price starts at $190. If there is a rehearsal that I should attend that is $50. I aim to fit into your budget. If it is a small wedding I am happy to adjust my price to fit into your budget. Depending on the location I may add something for my travel.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work with the couple by phone, email or in person. I want to know how they met and what kind of wedding ceremony they want. I have plenty of sample wedding ceremonies to share with them. They can write their own vows or use standard ones. If there are other vendors I will work with them before the wedding to make sure we are coordinated. I can perform a religious ceremony or a non religious ceremony. I work inside and outside at various wedding venues, large or small.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am credentailed with American Marriage Ministries and have a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I have been a wedding officiant for over 100 weddings in Florida, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
