As special prosecutor, I have represented the State of North Carolina, the local district attorney, and various local and state law enforcement agencies for more than three decades in what are called "public nuisance cases," seeing 125 of those cases to successful completion. I served on the North Carolina Property Tax Commission and held the position of General Counsel to the Independent Garage Owners of North Carolina for 25 years. I enjoy doing things for people that they can't do for themselves. Adjusters often deliberately don't return calls to claimants. Many claimants with smaller claims give up and walk away from their claims in frustration. Adjusters will not treat an experienced lawyer that way, knowing that an experienced lawyer knows all of the tricks insurance companies use against claimants and can draft a lawsuit on behalf of his client in minutes.

Absolutely wonderful man, very busy to the point of impatience, but he still tried. Don’t let my experience hold back your decision, I am uneducated and could not get him everything he needed in 48hrs. When you are beneath someone, you will always be talked down to. DO NOT SEND PHOTOS THROUGH THE “thumbtack” app, the attorneys will never receive them.

this gentleman told me early on there was a police report. I told him repeatedly I needed top see the polic report. I told him I needed to see the hospital chart to see what the hospital said happened. He kept talking about these papers but never sent them.I was never able to find out what the facts were. we must have communicated a dozen times or so. He sent some 6 pieces of paper (not what I asked for). the papers were miniscule and the type size so small that it could not be read with a magnifying glass( i keep a glass at my computer and tried repeatedly).He seemed to think the fact that the transmission was that poor that this was my fault and he fussed with me and complained that it was my fault the papers could not be read. It surprised me that he would fuss with me about some computer or transmission fault.It was obvious to me at that point that our relationship could not be restored. if you will read other comments from previous correspondents you will not get the message this gentleman is trying to send.

Injury cases are handled on a contingent fee basis, which means that your lawyer’s fee is contingent on a monetary recovery for the client. The contingent fee is 1/3 for auto cases and 1/4 for worker comp cases. Contingent fees for personal injury and worker comp are fairly standard across the US.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Working with a new client involves a thorough interview, a complete review of the factual situation, a complete review of a client’s medical care, and a gathering of documentation to prove facts, injuries and dollar damages.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was formerly the city attorney for the City of Charlotte, charged with trying negligence and contract cases against the city. I handled condemnation cases as well. I served a term as city prosecutor in traffic court and 30 years as special prosecutor in public nuisance cases (prostitution, pornography, alcohol, narcotics, gambling) for the district attorney.
