- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We provide free estimates for most installation and upgrade projects. For troubleshooting and diagnostic service calls, our standard service fee is $149, which includes up to 30 minutes of diagnosis and minor repairs when possible. We believe in upfront, transparent pricing with no hidden fees. If an estimate is outside your budget, let us know—we’re often able to recommend alternative solutions or adjust the scope of work while maintaining safety and code compliance. Financing is available on qualifying projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We take the time to understand your project, concerns, and goals. 2. We’ll ask a few questions (and request photos when helpful) to determine the best solution. 3. In many cases, we can provide a free estimate remotely. If troubleshooting or an onsite evaluation is needed, we’ll schedule a convenient appointment. 4. You’ll receive a detailed written estimate by email and text with clear pricing and scope of work. 5. Once approved, we’ll schedule your project, communicate throughout the process, and complete the work professionally with respect for your home or business.

Tentmakers Electric is a licensed and insured electrical contractor serving the Greater Charlotte area. We specialize in residential and commercial electrical work, including service upgrades, EV chargers, lighting, troubleshooting, dedicated circuits, generators, and remodels. Our team stays current with the National Electrical Code and industry best practices through continuing education and hands-on field experience.
