FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If all a client needs is basic welding services, with no material needed or fabrication done in my shop, then I usually charge 25 dollars per hour, and if a helper is needed for any reason, then I can provide a helper for 14 dollars per hour. Quotes vary if fabrication is needed or material bought. For painting needs, or house repair, then each job is different. I will quote the best price I can, but I do not spay with a sprayer. I hand roll, or hand paint. I have removed more old paint that was sprayed than you could believe.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to quote set prices, so it is important to know what type of material I will be working with, and a close approximation of material needed, If my client is unsure of any of this information, all it takes is a phone call. I can usually help client figure any of this out. I have also come to clients with an hourly rate. My welding rates are different than painting rates.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Local 421 steamfitters journeyman card, and worked as a welder and fabricator for our local trade union for many years. Also, I have a level 2 welder inspector's certification , which I used as a quality control manager with Flour Global in Puerto Rico on a Eli Lilly job site. I have been painting for 5 years, and Angela and I love to paint interior or exterior jobs.
