FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion began within my family. My husband and I were both 45lbs overweight and struggling with our own ailments. I struggled for years to lose my baby weight, and even with eating what I thought was healthy, and going to the gym everyday, the scale wan't budging. In 2013 my husband had a health scare that sent us in and out of doctor's offices with no answers. We landed at a chiropractors office who shed some light on the link between food and his symptoms, and the rest was history. We researched, read, and watched every documentary we could get our hands on. We changed our diet to a whole food, plant strong diet, and eliminated processed junk food. Within 4 months we both lost 40lbs and were feeling better than ever, but the journey was very difficult. During those 4 months there were a lot of ups and downs, and if we didn't have each other to lean on then I'm not sure we could have continued on. This is when I realized not only how important it was for people to learn to eat healthier, but how essential it is for them to have a support system. Wellness Coaching is my calling in life, and I am so happy to have the ability to spread this message, but more importantly to help people to achieve it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common goal throughout my practice is weight loss. It is without a doubt the biggest concern for most women. I am happy to say that when you do the work and make the changes, the weight does come off! The second most common aspect of what I do is help moms integrate healthy eating habits into their children's lives. This is probably one of the hardest aspects of our jobs as mothers, but it is also one of the most important things for our kids!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
This is a serious journey and you need to feel comfortable and trust the person you allow to come along. Find someone that you connect with and that you feel understands where you are and where you want to go. Its also worth mentioning that like any healthcare provider, you want to find someone who is professional and committed.
